Thank
you for sending the 2 misters. We are sending them on to our
Son DJ
who is at Camp Fallujah. We were saddened to hear that he had lost one of
his buddy's to an IED last week. His name was Nathan Clemons. We are very
proud of all of our Men and Women in uniform and keep them in our prayers.
Keep up the good work by letting our troops know in a practical way that
their sacrifice is not unnoticed by those of us back here in the "World" .
Thought you might like to see a pic of DJ. He is on the left and this was taken
at a palace in Bahgdad

Susan,
This is a big THANK YOU
from a very grateful Mom!! I wrote you about a month ago while my
son was home on leave from Baghdad. I had seen your misters on the
news one night and e-mailed you to see where I could get a couple
for my son and his friends. You wrote me back and very generously
offered to send him TWO CASES!!! Well, he just received them a couple
of days ago and they are all VERY GRATEFUL! I'm forwarded on his
e-mail to you.
I just wanted to thank
you from the bottom of my heart for what you did for my son and
his Unit. It is so wonderful to know there are people like you that
care enough about others to try to make them a little more comfortable
during the hard times.
God Bless You and your
staff!!!

Recently a letter
appeared on the White House website in which the mother of a soldier
in Iraq wrote to express her support. These words of thanks were
written by National Security Advisor, Condoleezza Rice. Though they
were written to one family, these comments express well the gratitude
each
of us feels toward the troops who are serving in Iraq. Dr. Rice's
words:
We appreciate
and thank your son for his service and sacrifice to this great nation
and thank you for the sacrifice you, as a caring mother, are also
making.
Because of the efforts of your son, his fellow soldiers and members
of the coalition, one of the most brutal and evil regimes is gone
forever. 25 million Iraqis have been liberated and they are beginning
to experience
democracy and civil rights they have never seen before. A free Iraq
will no longer be a threat in the world's most volatile region -
a free Iraq will make the world safer and America more secure.
Thank you again
for all that your son is doing.

Sue & Susan,
I read the mister
story in the Tribune today and I just wanted to thank you again
for all you two have done for our troops. Sue, after the 1st stories
in the papers last year, I contacted you regarding our son-in-law
Steve H. who is a Apache pilot with the 101st Airborne. Because
of many people working on the project, thousands of soldiers of
the 101st recieved shipments of misty mates and and they were greatly
appreciated.
It just so happens
that Steve, our daughter and their kids are here visiting us from
Ft. Campbell, KY right now. When I showed him the story, he again
expressed his appreciation for your efforts. His words were "we
loved our misty mates" He said they really did make a difference
in the extreme summer heat. They got back in late Jan from a year
in Iraq, but will probalbly have go back again sometime this winter.
Again, thanks for everything you gals have done
and are continuing to do,
Jerry B.

Dear Sue,
I just wanted to thank you again for all your help
on Tuesday in getting the misters out to my son's platoon - 3/1.
As I write this he is on a plane headed to Iraq. I was able to talk
to him Wed. and Thursday. When I told him about all you had done
to get those misters to them he was amazed. He said he told several
of his buddies and they were "pumped". There is no doubt
that those misters will be put to good use when they get to their
destination. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.
Please call me about getting the other misters to
my son Ryan who has been in Iraq since Feb. I think we were going
to get the 43 for the guys in his unit to me to send. His platoon
has 1000. I asked him to email me info on picking up supplies and
at which airport.
God bless you,
Donna M.

It's
a beautiful day in Rochester, Michigan. As I drove in to work this
morning, I said a prayer of thanks for my favorite time of year
as September approaches and the mornings are golden and misty, the
days are bright and clear without humidity, and the evenings are
cool with lovely sunsets. I drove past a party store and noticed
a shabbby, dirty "Yellow Ribbon" stapled to the outside
of the building. Something about it's dinginess made me sad. I thought
about all the hooplah that came with the "war" on television
and the fact that I just heard more young people have died there
since it "ended" than during the weeks we were in actual
combat. I thought about what fairweather supporters we are and how
easy it is to forget our military personnel separated from family,
friends and the comforts of home.
I thought about my late husband John when he was 19 and a soldier
in Vietnam and so isolated and far away from home, and how important
our letters to each other were then. I thought maybe I could find
a way to start a letter writing campaign or get Christmas cards
to those young people to tell them that TODAY I remembered them,
and I am grateful to them, and I am sorry for the losses and suffering
they and their families must endure, and that I realize they are
doing this for ME.
So I went on line to see if I could figure out how to get addresses
or what the best approach would be. Instead, I found your website.
And as I read through page after page and clicked from topic to
topic, I saw that you had done something already that is more practical
and useful than a letter or a
card might be...so I decided I'm going to find a way to help you
in your goals to get a mister to every person who needs one.
I will come up with a way to collect funds for this cause...it may
be only a little at a time, but I'll start with my $10 donation
and we'll go from there. I think your idea, your efforts and your
accomplishments say so much about the difference one person with
a little determination can make in the world. Congratulations and
thank you for your efforts...I hope I can help. I will see if I
can start the ball rolling here in my part of the world in Michigan....God
bless you and all those wonderful soldiers who are sacrificing so
much.

Greetings,
I was listening to the talk show with
Bruce Jacobs this morning when you called in. First off, being from
a military back ground and having a daughter and son-in-law at Ft.
Bragg, NC - let us THANK YOU for all you are doing for our troops.
Not only are we making a donation, I have emailed friends and family
across the country and overseas asking for donations to this cause.
We find it well worth our attention.
Keep up the good work and we hope you
get to the goal you have set.
God Bless and best wishes,
Rob and Kelli Cunningham

of us are aware of you -- the military person --over there in
Iraq most of us don't know how to contact you --but let me assure
you
People ARE grateful and proud of you and the job you are doing.
So many many prayers for you and your safety and return to your

I am so very grateful that a real person
actually acknowledged my mail!! Thank you so much for your considerations
and request. My son, Matt, enlisted in the Army less then a year
ago, graduating from Ft. Benning, GA with CCo, 2nd battalion, 58th
infantry. He was immediately sent to Vilseck base in Germany for
two months, then to Kosovo where he told me he was assigned to a
downed apache that crashed right around the time he got there -
- his words were that he saw some very disturbing sights which conveyed
that he may have been assigned to body retrieval; hence, his first
experience with death. I've been involved with life and death for
over 10 yrs and know that I have become desensitized to a degree
at the sight of one who has expired, no matter how gruesome.
It
made me think of all the young men and women who face this reality
and hope that in the face of that possible scenario, they find the
fortitude and strength to get past it. How can we not support them
and do everything to assure them that they are appreciated and will
never be forgotten. Matt returned to Germany 07/25 at which time
he volunteered to reassign to Iraq - -boy, that was a blow - - I
worried about Kosovo, which is still considered hostile territory
- - but Iraq, of course is a mom's biggest nightmare, even though
hopefully the worst is over (if that is a fair assessment). But he
said he was mentally and physically ready & I'll be behind him
100%!

I am on my way
to donate. I know the heat is brutal on our men and women in Iraq.
I pray for their safety, health and accomplishment of mission. I
have a huge amount of gratitude. Thank you and God Bless.

I
heard your conversation on the Bruce Jacobs show this morning coming
home from work and I, too, am appalled by the reaction of the Cardinal's
re: the misty-mates. My youngest son, PVT 1 class, Matthew B. leaves
this week for Iraq for next 9 months to a year tour & I, too,
am concerned about the exposure to heat (as a medic, I see a lot
of heat related pt and know how horrible heat exhaustion / heat
stroke can be). Even if my son were not going, it is something I
had thought about; not having a clue about this web sight and your
goals. My daughter & I had come up with several ideas of our
own for keeping troops cooler but what you're proposing sounds a
lot more effective. Please be assured that a donation is being made
to help further the cause. I am so very proud of my sons (another
in the Navy in Sicily) as well as all of the fine men & women
who are keeping watch for all of us.
Thank
you for considering this mail,
Linda G.

Dear Sue,
As per our conversation of this morning following is the information
needed to send cool blasts to my sons troop, first let me tell you
how grateful I was to talk to you this morning, it has been a constant
pain in my heart that everyone has seemed to forgotten our sons
and husbands in Iraq. As my son is in the army, stationed at Fort
Carson Co. and Arizona seems to be mostly made up militarily of
Marine familys we feel a little alone here when it comes to people
and orginisations of support for familys, emotionally. I will add
Rick and all those Marines who are fighting behind him to my prayers
every day that this war continues. Thank you for all you are doing
to support all of our loved ones, I can only imagine the monumental
task you have taken on,God bless you many times over... Sincerly

5 Hi, Just wanted to tell you that I think what you are doing is
wonderful and I know our soldiers will love it. I was so happy to
see that your next goal is the 101st Airborne, my son is in the
101st, 3/187 A co. to be exact. I don't have a lot of money, but
will try to send at least enough for one or two Misty mates. I wish
I could send more. It's so good that you can get them at cost. You
are doing a wonderful job and will make life over there a little
bit more comfortable.
Thank you again.

Let me start
off by saying that what you are doing is wonderful. Too many times
the only news we get in overseas deployed locations is all the war
protests and negativity towards our cause in the states. Not exactly
a morale booster. Yesterday as I was sitting on post I was listening
to Armed Forces Radio and heard a clip on the news about your program.
I think it is great, but I would ask this of you. I know that since
this is "Operation Iraqi Freedom" that the troops in Iraq
are going to get the most publicity. There are, however, thousands
of troops like myself, deployed to the middle east but not Iraq.
It seems that because we are not in Iraq that we get forgotten,
even though I now sit less than 800 miles from Baghdad. While we
probably have it easier in the sense that our host nation welcomes
us here, we face the same type of weather and harsh conditions they
do. I am not writing this to complain or try to make people feel
bad, I'm just want people to remember that there are troops in the
middle east, not in Iraq.
Thank you for your support of the United States Military, you should
be commended for your work.
Sincerely,
Senior Airman, United States Air Force

Dear Wonderful Women:
I just heard about you guys on the
ABC news. You are the best! I will be
ordering at least 4 misters for the troops. And, I am passing the
link on to
everyone in my address book!
G-d
Bless you. I have been agonizing about how to help the troops during
these last few difficult weeks (already sent stuff via our Temple).
This will uplift our spirits and theirs. Please tell your guys that
the American people have not forgotten them. They are remembered
in our prayers and we can't wait for them to come home. No one I
know has anyone serving in the war - but, all of my friends have
been doing things for the troops. So, please convey our gratitude,
love and wishes for a safe return to these heroes and heroines.
And, thank you too!

Dear Sue - Just
saw the tail end of the Channel 10 News! Good for you - you are
really spreading the word. The guys seemed impressed. I am one (of
I hope many) who talked with you on the phone and then e-mailed
you last week concerning a Misty Mates order and donation. I know
you must be very busy, but if you could take a minute to e-mail
me acknowledging that you received my e-mail requesting Misty Mates
to Ramon's friend, Bronston, I would very much appreciate it. I
can't wait for Ramon and Bronston to receive these. I think they
have been very busy lately over in Mosul. Anyway, I wanted to e-mail
you to tell you that I talked my neighbor, Jackie, into donating.
I think she said she donated $200.00. She made a remark about how
wonderful it was not to have to worry about every penny anymore,
and so that was my opportunity to tell her about you and your good
works. She wasn't in town when the newspaper article came out, so
I was so very excited that she was willing to do this.
I know your "Leap of Faith" is going to pay off big time.
Thanks again
for all you are doing for our boys. God bless all our troops and
you two girls.
Love, Gail

"I
will take as many of these misters as these fine people will donate.
Please thank everyone involved for their generosity; it
measurably enhances morale to know that we have American citizens
who continue to support us in our struggle to bring security
& stability to Iraq. We are in contact with the enemy almost
daily, having lost two Marines KIA & numerous WIA, but our Marines
continue to attack the enemy with the same enthusiasm & professionalism
that has been evidenced by Marines throughout our nation's history.
Thank you for facilitating this unselfish act from grateful citizens
to the men who continue to serve in harm's way in defense of their
nation on foreign shores."

Just saw your efforts covered on News Channel 10
this morning. What a fantastic job you are doing!!! I will certainly
make an effort to get to a Bank One to make a donation. I had no
idea the temperatures were so high over there. I can't stand the
heat here!!! And they are all covered up in uniforms. I will re-read
your website and make sure I have the correct bank.
Thank you again for everything you are doing for
those precious service men and women over in Iraq.

We have a family
friend who is currently here on leave and will be redeploying very
soon. Is there a local address where we can pick up a Misty Mate
through this program to send with him? Thanks for a quick
response - Deb R.
So much happened
so quickly since I last responded to this e-mail that I'm just now
catching my breath. Thank you, Steve Utter and Misty Mate and Sue
and Susan for getting 1000 Misty Mates to my friend 1st Sgt. Dave
J.
When I sent
you the original e-mail I was only thinking about getting one for
him and maybe a few more for him to take back with him. In my wildest
dreams I never imagined that he would be taking 1000!! Thank
you again for all the efforts that went into making this happen
and for allowing my wishes to be greatly exceeded - Deb R.
